So Madison will pretty much eat anything and everything....but I can't get her to eat any fruit. I cooked up some apples and sweet potato chunks together with cinnamon on it and she ate a few bites. She won't eat fruit that we cut up, she will drink smoothies with fruit in it though. Any other ideas to get some fruit into her diet? It would be so nice if we could just cut up some chunks of fruit and she could have them for a snack but that is a no go.

She had mushrooms on toast for breakfast this morning....

Also I see a few of you are expecting again (congratulations!) We are planning to start trying for baby #2 (and final baby) in 2 months and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on books for toddlers to introduce them to becoming a sibling. Just planning ahead here :)

oh how cute! she reminds me of noelani a little when i first look at that picture.

not sure i can help with the fruit thing. i have the EXACT same problem with noelani, but with veggies. have you tried melons? noelani loves a good cantelope or honeydew. they have to be just right though.

i've started just giving Emilia whole apples, pears, peaches and whatnot - like, not even cutting them in half or anything. i watch her and make sure i'm sitting down next to her (either on the floor or at the table) but she seems to enjoy eating fruit WHOLE now. She freaks if i cut anythign up for her anymore ... b/c she's a BIG GIRL now (she reminds me of this).
also - apples sliced and ready for dipping helps - we use Sunbutter instead of peanut butter.
have you tried dried fruit? Emilia likes prunes and dried apple rings.
the little girl i babysit is addicted to manderin orange slices from the can. the Mom buys the "no syrup/juice only" kind and i swear, this little girl (she's 15m) can polish off an entire can in less than 5 minutes. ;)

i'm glad i don't have the problem you do: Emilia will turn down other food in order to eat fruit or veggies. so i guess i can ask how to get her to eat other stuff instead! ha ha!

no books about babies that i can recommend. we've just been talking about "the baby" and "mommy's belly has a baby" and that sort of stuff - i let Emilia touch my belly and she likes to pat it and say "Gentle baby!" - but i seriously doubt she actually "gets it" yet. I did buy her a Cabbage Patch kid that came with a "baby" - it's like a big girl CPK and a little baby one too - and they kind of look alike - we're planning on giving it to her for either her birthday or when the New Baby is born -

i do too, until she says "Mommy Tunnel!" and expects me to go inside too ... ugh!

It was at the baby gym that Trev took her to for a birthday party last weekend. She loved it. She has a little slide here at home that she is always trying to convince everyone to go down. My in laws got video of her fighting with my father in law that he needed to go down the slide, it was pretty hilarious :)

Madison loves all veggies, and she always has. She will eat the heck out of green peppers, and red peppers and all sorts of good stuff. She just doesn't hardly like any fruit, its bizarre! Everyone told me not to feed her fruit first because then she wouldn't want veggies haha guess this proved them wrong. I don't mind so much though because she really is a good eater and doesn't really turn her nose up at anything but fruit. My mother in law would likely have a small stroke if I gave her a whole piece of fruit...lol

She's adorable!

I second the recommendation about letting her hold the whole fruit. She might like that better ... but meanwhile, if she loves veggies then she's getting vitamins, so I wouldn't worry too too much.
